No cost to participate, however participants must pay their own park entrance fee

Adults $ 10.00 + $ 1.30 = $11.30

Seniors $ 5.00 + $ 0.65 = $ 5.65

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

We are again hosting a “try a kayak” club event that is run by fellow club members who are bringing their kayaks (sea or recreational kayak) for you to try out. 

It is a great opportunity to try before you buy or see how you like a different model. There will be a wide variety of kayaks, different manufacturers, models, and lengths.  Try out as many kayaks as you like.

Come anytime between 10:00am-2:00pm.


Please Note

If you are a non-HOC member you are welcome to participate in 2 club events. Thereafter, you are encouraged to join the club.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

A Safety perimeter will be set up on the water, comprised of members who are fully capable of performing assisted rescues.

Participants are expected to wear a PFD at all times while on the water AND are required to follow the instructions of the members on the water at all times (NO EXCEPTIONS)

CANCELLATION

•  If your plans change, please self-cancel as soon as possible.

•  HOC Website > Attend Events > How to Self Cancel

•  The club may cancel due to bad weather that may impact the safety of participants or due to low attendance.

WHAT TO BRING

•  Clothing suitable for immersion (no cotton), towel, water shoes, a change of clothing

•  You are encouraged to bring your own PFD, paddle, safety gear, plus whistle, pump, float, tow rope if you can

•  Water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen


Attention Non-Members:  If you are thinking about becoming a member, The Halton Outdoor Club invites you to take part in up to two club activities as a Non-Member. After that, please join our club so we can welcome you as a member.Registration is required for all events, and you will have to agree to the waiver of participation when registering.

Attention Past Members:  You are not entitled to two trial activities. Please renew your membership to take advantage of all that the Club has to offer.
