| IMPORTANT HOC TRIP RATING INFORMATION AND CANCELLATION |
We can only anticipate what the trip conditions will be prior to the trip; and they are subject to change based on the weather information for that day; therefore, the overall trip rating and the required skills needed to safely attend the trip, may be upgraded on the day of the trip. This eventuality includes the possible cancellation for some or all its participants; or the postponement of a trip for the following day. By signing up for a club trip, the participant assumes the risk that such a cancellation may occur, even as late as on the shoreline. HOC Paddling Trip Rating Tool-2024-02-29 |
| Important Trip Details |
This will be a self supported scouting trip out of Key River Marina.
Each participant will be responsible for their own gear, toilet kit, food etc.
Group equipment (water filtration, kitchen tarp etc) will be provided by the leaders.
The first day will involve an approximate 22km paddle to our base camp (Site 714), with VERY limited landing spots along the first 16kms to the mouth of the Key River.
(expect a 5-6 hour paddle on Day 1 and Day 4) Given the 9am arrival time on day one, you may want to consider camping or alternate accommodations near Key River Marina on July 2nd, at your own expense. There is no thunderbox on our site, so bring along a trowel. We are anticipating paddling one day east of the campsite, and one day west possibly to the Bustard Islands (weather dependent)
Launch on the final day will be 9am for the paddle back to Key River Marina.
Launch Fee of $15 per kayak (in/out), and Parking Fee of $10 per vehicle per day and will be the responsibility of each registrant payable to Key River Marina. *cash is the preferred method of payment*
(no reservation required)
