GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Sea kayak only. Practice wet exits, various self and assisted rescues some paddle strokes. Assisted rescues will be covid dependent. 

Lesson instructed by a Paddle Canada Instructor.  Lesson will include all mandatory basic skills required to participate in upcoming HOC-lead recreational paddling events: wet exit (no rolling involved), self-rescue, assisted rescue, key paddle strokes (forward, backwards, sideways and stopping), plus key safety gear. Assisted rescues will be covid guidelines dependent.  

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Yes. A Must. Leaders appreciate early registration and at least 24 hours before the event.

CANCELLATION

• If your plans change, please contact the Club Manager at info@haltonoutdoorclub.ca to cancel so that other HOC members may take your spot.
• The club may cancel due to bad weather that may impact the safety of participants or due to low attendance.
• Not refundable unless your spot can be filled from the wait list.

WHAT TO BRING

• CLEAN sea kayak and paddle. Please ensure it is free of dirt and debris given pool environment
• Recommended to bring - skirt, pump, paddle float
• PFD mandatory
• No Rentals available
• Optional: swim goggles or nose/ear plugs

Covid-19 Safety Guidelines

As per City of Mississauga regulations, all participants must wear masks at all times, except when in the water (including around the pool). Physical distancing of 2 meters is also required at all times. Proof of vaccination will be required to enter the premises.
