HIKE GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Point of interests

This hike has two parts. The first part follows local trails and the Bruce Trail to the base of Smokey Hollow Falls, and it is the most rugged section. The second part crosses the creek and follows a loop up and down the ravine using the Bruce Trail and unmarked trails.  Besides the waterfall and beautiful Grindstone Creek you may see a beaver dam.  This is one of the longest and most challenging hikes in this series.

The ET&T Revisited series offers hikes that follow local trails that a group of hikers compiled into a guide book titled “Escarpment Trails and Treks: Two-Hour Hikes in Halton, Hamilton and Niagara”. These hikes are ideal for getting to know local trails in only 2-3 hours and all in close proximity to your home in Halton, Hamilton and Niagara Region, Southern Ontario.
