Exit at Casablanca Blvd.

Turn left on Main Street West, Grimsby

About 4-5 Hours.

TERRAIN  

Moderate. Some Great ups and downs. Typical Bruce Trail—Rocky sections. Some street walking involved.

A big loop.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Point of interests

We will enjoy the start of the Iroquoia Section of the Bruce Trail with the nice views of the Grimsby area. We should see the turkey vultures soaring high above. There will be a challenging descent down the Adam Dopko side trail and a final stretch past the older homes of Grimsby.

REGISTRATION OPENS

Opens on-line 2 weeks prior to the hike and is limited to 20 hikers

WHAT TO BRING

  • Hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes
  • Water, drinks, snacks, and sunscreen.
  • Prepare for Mother Nature!!

GUIDING NOTES:

HIKE PACE -  Leisure: 3 km/hr or less. Moderate: 3-4 km/hr or Fast: 4-5km/hr. All paces are average and depending on the terrain.

TERRAIN - Easy: mostly flat and usually good footing (i.e. rail trails, Confederation Park, Bay Front Park), Moderate: some hills and/or poor footing (Bruce Trail, Dundas Valley, etc.) and Challenging: steep hills and strenuous footing (Bruce Trail, some trails in Short Hills, Dundas Valley and Red Hill Valley). Please note variations can be expected with weather conditions.

Attention Non-Members:  If you are thinking about becoming a member, The Halton Outdoor Club invites you to take part in up to two club activities as a Non-Member. After that, please join our club so we can welcome you as a member.
