The Huntsville Mid-Week Getaway

This popular Mid-Week Getaway allows us two days of skiing and snowshoeing at Arrowhead Provincial Park, one of our favourite destinations. Our one-night stay will be nearby at the Holiday Inn Express in Huntsville.

Our Itinerary:

Wednesday, January 15th- We will depart Burlington at 8:00 a.m. from the Guelph Line Carpool Parking area on the north side of the QEW at Guelph Line where overnight parking is free. Guelph Line Carpool Parking - Google Maps  Please arrive by 7:45 a.m.

Our coach bus will take us to the Huntsville area where we will spend the afternoon on the beautiful trails at Arrowhead Provincial Park.  Arrowhead has 28 kms of machine groomed ski trails and 8 km of snowshoe trails, as well as a 1 km ice skating loop through the forest. The Park also has a great chalet where we can enjoy our lunch, do a little shopping or just relax in front of the fireplace. Our day on the trails will end at 4:15 pm., when we will drive to the Holiday Inn in Huntsville for our overnight stay.   

Thursday, January 16th – We will head back to Arrowhead at 9:15 a.m. to enjoy the trails at Arrowhead for a second day. Our departure will be at 3:00 pm, for an estimated arrival back in Burlington of 6:30 p.m.

Cost: The cost per person is $206.00 (double occupancy) or $266.00 (single occupancy).

NOTE: If we are unable to match you up with a roommate and there are no alternative rooming arrangements, we will cancel your registration and process a refund.

Accommodation:We will stay at the Huntsville Holiday Inn Express. Rooms are equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and a Keurig machine. A breakfast will be included with your stay. For dinner, some restaurants (dine in or take-out) are within walking distance. The hotel is also close to grocery stores in order to purchase snacks and food for lunches.  The bus will also take interested participants on Wednesday night to downtown Huntsville where you can arrange your own dinner plans, leaving the hotel at 6:30pm and returning on your own.

Please Note: Masks are no longer required on the HOC bus. Wearing a mask is optional and the choice remains at the discretion of the individual, as their own safety and concern dictates. If provincial regulations change. HOC mask mandates will change accordingly.

Cancellation Policy:  If you need to cancel, please contact Cheryl, our Club Manager at manager@haltonoutdoorclub.ca. If you need to cancel, a refund (less a $25 processing fee), will ONLY be issued if we can replace you from the waitlist. 

If the trip is cancelled by the club at any point, you will be given a full refund. 

If the trip experiences inclement weather that interferes with our planned activities, the trip will NOT be cancelled. Leaders will try to find suitable alternative activities.

While in progress, if the trip experiences unexpected circumstances that are beyond the control of the Club and causes changes to the trip itinerary that result in unexpected expenses, individual members are responsible for any extra expenses that may be incurred.
